Strengths :
Super Strength - Vampires are much stronger than humans and grow stronger with time. Even new vampires who are still in transition can toss a fully grown human across a room with great speed and force. Their strength is also more powerful then werewolves that are not in wolf form.
Super Speed - Vampires can accelerate their movements to cover short distances in an instant, faster than the human eye can see. When running across long distances, they appear as vibrating blurs of motion.
Emotional Control - The supernatural ability to control and manipulate the emotions of one's self.
Dream Manipulation - Vampires can control dreams and subconscious. The vampires can produce and modify dreams, bestow nightmares or lucid dreaming. Other effects of this ability is the distortion of reality and trapped in the dreams.
Heightened Senses - They can hear whispered conversations, even ones in far off buildings, smell blood and see in total darkness.
Mind Compulsion - Vampires have the ability to control minds, plague people's dreams, and alter/erase human memories.
Immortality - A vampire stops aging once turned. Upon their transformation, vampires then on become immune to all conventional illness, disease, virus and infection. The only known disease or infection that can kill a vampire is a werewolf bite.
Healing Factor - Vampires can snap their finger bones back into place after being broken and have been seen to fully recover from gunshots, stab wounds, and torso impalement.
Fangs - Vampires can grow fangs which they use to feed, they might come out when a vampire is close to blood.
Lapis Lazuli - She possess a Lapis Lazuli necklace that she later turned into a bracelet that enables her to walk in daylight without being harmed.
Weaknesses
Decapitation: The act of dismembering or removing the head of a vampire will result in permanent death.
Fire or Sunlight: The act of exposing a vampire to fire or sunlight will result in permanent death.
Vervain: The act of exposing or ingesting a vampire with vervain causes a vampire to become severely feverish and weak. Also, If a vampire's skin is exposed to vervain, it can result in burning them. Also vampires cant compel anyone on vervain.
Wood: The act of wounding a vampire with wood will cause the vampire to become severely weak and if a vampire takes a wooden stake through its heart it will result in permanent death.
Heart Extraction: The act of extracting or removing the heart of a vampire will result in permanent death.
Invitation: Vampires cannot enter a home without an invitation by the owner.
Magic: Vampires are susceptible to the powers of witchcraft.
Starvation: Vampires who abstain from blood for extended amounts of time will eventually desiccate into mummification.
Vampire Bloodline: If an Original vampire dies, all vampires descended from their bloodline will slowly perish.
Werewolf Bite: The bite of a werewolf is extremely lethal to vampires.

Personality : Katherine is a very manipulative person. She knows how to get what she wants. If anyone ever gets in her way she will destroy them. She is extreemely selfish and only cares about herself. She would let her closest friends die as long as she was safe. She is also overly confident. She thinks that she will always win. She doesn't find it possible for anyone to outsmart her. She has a tendency to brag about her victories. She also has a disregard for human life. Actually that is any life except her own. She doesn't feel the need to protect others, as long as she's safe. She is very intellegent and cunning which is why she has so much faith in her own plans. But she is a liar. No one can trust Katherine. If they did then they are truly stupid.
Katherine is thought of as a bitch by many. She has a love for guys and is very seductive. She is very good at getting guys to believe that they are in love with her. She uses them to get what she wants then she is done with them. She is a heart breaker which gets her many enemies that want her dead. But she always finds a way to smooth talk her way out of it. Convince them that they really do need her. She only fell in love once with Stefan Salvatore. She knows that their love was real and is willing to go to any length to get Stefan back from Elena (who looks exactly like Katherine.).
Katherine is really misunderstood. There was a time when she was sweet and cared. She just blocked out her humanity. She blocked out all the pain of caring and became selfish. Katherine is very playful and knows how to have fun. She loves playing mind games with people. She is quite sarcastic and is very cold with her enemies. Katherine is very powerful. Since she is older it is harder to kill her. She is extreemely strong and fast. She is witty and is quick to get out of situations.
History : Katherine was born in Bulgaria in 1475. She was born to an extreemely wealthy family but was disowned when having a daughter to an unknown man. Her daughter was taken away from her and never seen again. She travelled by herself and met a vampire by the name of Klaus. She also met a vampire who fell in love with her named Trevor. Katherine found out that she was the doppleganger. That means that she looks identical to another one of her ancestors. The need for her is that if she is killed and her blood goes on a rock called the moonstone it would break the curse so vampires could walk in the daylight. Katherine ran and hid. Trevor took her in and protected her. She didn't want to spend her life running. She drank Trevor's blood and comitted suicide. She awakened as a vampire.
She decided to head back home to Bulgaria and found her whole family dead. She knew this was the punishment for turning herself. She has been on the run from Klaus ever since knowing the consequence of her action was death. Over the years she travelled on her own. In 1864 she went to Mystic Falls, Virginia. She stayed at the Salvatore Boarding house where she met Stefan and Damon Salvatore. they were brothers and best friends. Both competed for her love. Katherine was attracted to Damon but fell in love with Stefan. She wanted to turn them both so she could have both of them to herself for her own selfish entertainment. But the longer she stayed the more suspicious the town became of vampires. One night when she was in bed with Stefan she bit him to have a snack. His father put vervain in Stefan's drink. Katherine started choking and passed out. Stefan's father came and took Katherine away to a church where they would burn her.
Damon and Stefan tried to save her but they failed. Both got shot and became vampires. Damon begged Emily (a witch) to save Katherine. Emily put a spell on the church where the burning happened. It would keep allvampires alive. But the thing Damon didn't know was that Katherine escaped. She wasn't in the tomb. She would fake her own death so she could stop running from Klaus. But she still wanted Stefan. She followed him throughout the years keeping an eye on him. Until 2008 when he went back to Mystic Falls. Stefan fell in love with Elena Gilbert. She was the new doppleganger and looked exactly like Katherine.
Katherine just watched as Damon came to town and became desperate to get Katherine out of the tomb where he believed her to be.
